Back in 2007, Bossa Nova Bar opened its gates for the first time to beer lovers & foodies from all the world. It is actually a combination of three places in one:
a café, a restaurant & a beer bar.
Located in a bamboo covered area, inside the silent & less touristic developed village of Gerani, just 15 kms. north-west outside of Chania's city center. That means an easy 20 minute drive to get there and enjoy the menu & atmosphere.
Bonnie and Clyde Urban Tours, being beer people ourselves and having started in Greece the first ever in Craft Beer Tours & Tasting Sessions in Crete, Chania & Rethymno, it was unthinkable not to visit Bossa Nova Restaurant & Beer Bar, in order to experience first-hand their services & tastes.
The Beer Bar
Their beer catalogue includes more than 100 beers sourced from all over the world and found a way to make these styles accessible to the local community. Travellers and beer lovers who are spending time in Chania, should consider a visit to Bossa Nova bar as a ''must''. Very often, we get surprised by the unique beers that we can find & taste there.
Beer styles like Belgian Dubbel - Tripel - Quadrupel, Lambics, Gose, Sours, or Pale Ales, Stouts, IPA's, Lagers & Pilsners are represented in the beer lineup. There is also a small, carefully selected menu from Greek craft microbreweries.
In case you cannot decide what beer to order, or it isn't clear what is what, no worries: just ask Nektarios, one of the owners & the heart of Bossa Nova. He knows beers very well and has knowledge about brewing, tasting techniques & serving tips.
During our visit in the place, he mentioned that he has the specific beer glass for each of the beers he serves. Overall, there are over 2.000 glasses inside the bar!
The Restaurant
Bossa Nova's restaurant menu has an ethnic-fusion style rooted in Greek cuisine & local products.
You may find tasty burgers, tasty vegetarian options, pasta & salads. A big plus is the meze (tapas) plates that will go hand-in-hand with your beer.
One thing is more than certain: you won’t leave the place hungry!
At the head of the restaurant menu is Tina, who brings a tasty flair to the gastronomic experience.
Bossa Nova Restaurant & Beer Bar is a place for all beer lovers and foodies.
It is more than certain that you'll find your favorite beer style or get the chance to experience new aromas and tastes. At the same time, there are quality food pairings & tapas to accompany your beers in a cool environment, inside the classic beer pub ambiance or outside in the green garden.
